About my bookshelf is a books and reading site with a preserved Dutch archive and a new editorial focus on international literature.

The historical site

The archive contains book reviews, reading lists, writing exercises and other posts from 2018–2025. Historical bylines, publication dates and first-person accounts belong to their original authors. The former author's “Over mij” page is part of that history.

The current operator is not the historical author and does not speak on her behalf. An old review's mention of a review copy, event or personal relationship describes the original publication context. It is not a claim about our current editorial desk.

The site today

We preserve that reading history and add separately dated guides about translated literature, the experience of a new language edition and resources for authors. New material begins with International Books and For Authors. English guides are marked as such when linked from Dutch pages.

Ownership and commercial relationships

About my bookshelf and the book-translation service Skillsfor.ai have a common owner. AmeliaIndieAuthors and PublishingEDU are also related sites. Our product mentions must disclose that relationship where it matters to a reader. They should not be understood as independent reviews or evidence that a historical author endorsed the service.

Our first practical translation study used real processing of public-domain excerpts in an isolated test environment. It did not use a customer purchase. Its findings include failures and limitations, and the method and files are available with the articles.
